I was just wondering if Im the only one that thinks that whenever I see someone on craigslist posting new clothes with the tags still on them if they were stolen or shoplifted from a store ? I mean who would buy that many pieces of clothing and they not fit or whatever ? Makes me wonder if they were not stolen .

no, I often buy new clothes and leave the tags on until I decide to wear them

I always leave the tags on, and save the bag & receipt just in case I change my mind so it will be easy to return

some stores have a 30 day return policy and you cant get a refund after 30 days even with a receipt

when I shop on ebay I look for new clothes with the tags, because thats a good indication it was never worn or washed

I have several closets full of clothes with the tags still on. I usually do not remove tags until I decide to wear the item. I have clothes and shoes that are several years old with tags still attached. And I paid for every last one of the items.

If they're selling things that are currently in the store, then yes, they probably shoplifted them. Because otherwise why not take them back for a refund or store credit, which would be more than you could get on craigslist.

I agree.

I have donated or sold clothes with the tags on them because I sometimes shop at an outlet store where there are no returns. Occasionally an impulse buy or a price that seems to good to pass up does not fit or look right, and I will pick up things for my family members when they are not with me.

I try hard not to do it too often, but I have actually made money when the prices at the outlet were extremely low, so it's not always a bad thing.

I've bought a lot of clothes that I loved at the store, but I don't love so much at home so I end up selling them. Also, sometimes I order online, and it turns out the clothes are the wrong size and I don't feel like returning them so I just sell it. So I've never really given it a second thought if the tag is still on it.
