It's unfortunate because they do tend to flatter our figures.
Yeah, no kidding. Whether you're younger or older men will stay FAR away and I can't say I blame them. No man, of any age wants to look at that and think it's something his great grandmother would wear; even a burqa would look better.

Flattering? I don't know what universe you're from!

Like I said, I resisted high-waisted jeans for a long time because I have horrid memories of my aunts wearing them (so ill fitting) in the late 70's.

I see people on here aren't fans - and that's fine. But I just bought two pairs - one in a dark blue and the other in black. They fit amazing and make me look like I have super long legs. Mind you, I know the look isn't for everyone - if you don't have a defined waist it makes a block out of you (the latest ones have amazing panels along the front to define the waist. This style does not look great in a thin denim fabric - nor does just ANY rinse look great - you really have to know your body type).

An online search gave me some great ideas - they look great with blouses and with cropped jackets (for a dressier look):

Whatever floats your boat. Personally, the only time I'd wear high-waisted anything is if I DIDN'T want to be hit on

Not flattering on me, at all...I already have super long legs, don't need any artificial elongation to create the illusion. My most flattering pants fit is one that sits at the natural waist.

Your first link is from 2007, and your second link, while current (if not super current) doesn't even show what I would call all that high-waisted.

Well, I guess I'm the only one who will step in and say YES! to changing fashions. I can't STAND low waisted jeans. They aren't flattering on anyone who isn't slender and petite with a tiny arse and a flat stomach. When I see girls and women size 12 and wearing low riding pants with a muffin top hanging over the top of their belt or showing through their tops, I could retch.

Well, yeah, but it's not like the only option other than low riders is high-waisted. There is such a thing as a nice, normal rise that falls at the natural waist.

Guess these fashions made everyone ugly and weren't attractive either huh?

They ARE flattering, since the tuckin all that fat around your lovehandles, and don't let it spill over into a muffin top, or worse a bread loaf!

I agree! Not to mention they are so short, sometimes "down there hair" can show, talk about nasty! I could care less if you grow it, I just don't wanna see it!

:::shudder:::

That looked bad, even in the 80s.
It looks great on a slender figure, but doesn't work on plus sizes (10 and above)
