I know you are the number one muscular (with visible musculature) woman booster, but your preferences aren't all that common currently. It is becoming more popular, but by no means in the majority preference for women or men for women's bodies. (And generally speaking, staying fitness model lean isn't very healthy for many women. Keeping that low teens body fat percentage makes it hard to menstruate.)
"Mass" appeal looks more like Scarlet Johansen or thereabouts. But there are a wide range of preferences out there....
One reason it's not as widespread a thing is because so few women actually lift weights. They've all bought into the idea that "weights make women huge like men", and the women's fitness industry perpetuates this like its their business (because it is). They've got lots of cheap marked up super light weights (like, 3 pound dumbbells kind of light) and bands to sell to women.
Obviously the extreme's on either side of the spectrum have less appeal to the masses. It's just that the female "extreme" is way overblown, and the reality is that muscle mass on a woman is sexy as all get out. It takes years upon years of dedication and heavy lifting for women to hit the point of "ew".
I think the extreme leanness is what gets to people and turns them off, not the muscle mass itself. Throw a layer of fat on some on these very ripped women and I think they would look better. They most likely don't stay that lean 24/7 too, they'll cut down for photo shoots, dehydrate, set up ideal lighting, etc.

To me, it DOES seem widespread because most of the guys I know are all totally into sexy fit women. Im talking about Crossfit women, women who regularly do squats and workout with heavy weights. These are the hottest women there are.

Not saying those women are fake by any means, but dear goodness they could lay off on the effects/photoshopping just a tad.
Regardless, just because you find it attractive doesn't mean it's universally attractive. Most (as in, VAST majority) of the men I grew up with and knew throughout my 20s preferred women who looked like ballerinas or surfers. Very small, very thin, not much visible muscle mass.

Didn't know you were a photoshop expert. In what way are they altered? I am a photoshop expert (through my digital photography hobby) and can easily identify where photos were altered (usually through masks, layers and the liquify effect). These photos are not altered (in terms of reshaping the models bodies). Besides, I know a lot of women in real life who look EXACTLY like them and THAT is what I am talking about. They are representative as to the look of women that every man I know (including me) find completely and totally super attractive. I don't know any dude IRL who would not find these women HOT.
That is what regular exercise and clean eating will make you look like.

there is something to be said for seeing and interacting with these very fit women in the flesh. It has a very different impact then a picture.

I agree that there are few women who actually lift weights but I would say the numbers have been increasing for the past 30 years. There are many women today who are into Olympic lifting, powerlifting and Crossfit.
I also agree about the extreme leanness. This is difficult to do and takes exteme dedication with your diet.

Keep in mind that the pictures Chum Kiu is posting are not the typical girls you will find at your local YMCA or LA Fitness. I do agree that guys who workout find fit girls to be attractive.

I disagree with the statement that most men prefer "Very small, very thin, not much visible muscle mass." A muscular, bubble butt will gain most guys attention before anything else. OTOH, many guys are intimidated by girls who are taller, more athletic or stronger.

they aren't exactly lacking muscle mass. you also have to keep in mind that most women who throw weights around don't end up looking like bodybuilders and fitness models, they end up looking something like this:

I disagree. I see a LOT of women who look like this at many of my local gyms - LA Fitness, Woodland Hills; Equinox, Encino; Equinox, Woodland Hills; Valley Crossfit, Van Nuys; Team Crossfit, Woodland Hills, etc.
Also, at any of the local Starbucks along Ventura Blvd from Calabasas to Studio City. And even at the Calabasas Lululemon store. Heck, I can go into a local Starbucks and within an hour see 20 or more just like this come in to get their drinks. Maybe there is just more here where I live than in other places. That could be why.

I agree with you on the very small, very thin thing. Most guys DO NOT prefer those types of women. Muscular bubble butts (girls who squat) are what is the most sexy.
As a guy, I can tell you that your comment of "most guys are intimidated...." is completely false though. Only a very small minority of guys are intimidated and those are the guys who have confidence issues. The overwhelming majority of guys are NOT intimidated by those types of women.

Of course you are going to see a lot of women who look like this in LA. Same goes for the other larger cities in California and Florida. Try most of the other 48 states and you will see far less women who look like this. My daughter points this out to me when she is home from Florida and works out with me at our local gym.
I edited my comment to "many guys are intimidated..." Again, it is your perspective. If you're hanging around with bodybuilders or guys that at least work out, they will not be intimidated. The guys are where I live look more like this and might be slightly intimidated.
