Or as George Costanza from Seinfeld said, "as someone who wears glasses, that's like saying you're going to get a wheelchair just to cruise around in."
The best is when they have frames without lenses! Sooooooooo stylish
I'd like to see that. Not sure it would look right but who knows. The question I have and one tht would need an answer from a more learned person than I is how safe to the eyes is looking through clear glass all day? Does it have any effect on the vision and, in time, on the eyes? I do know, as an ophthalmologist told me, that wearing magnifier glasses for reading when not needed can put a strain on the eyes.
Whatever makes them happy. For one, unless you know them fairly well, you're not likely to know for sure that they're fake. For another, non-prescription glasses are no less of a fakery than those who have hair extensions, wear makeup, dye their hair, or any other unnecessary cosmetic modification to their appearance.

I read an article about Elton John a while back that said that he didn't need glasses, but all of the big costumey frames that he wore on stage messed up his eyes. Now he wears glasses for real.
You know, it's hardly a big problem but it does tell you something about the person if they wear fake glasses. I know someone who I found out by accident wears fake glasses. I later learned that almost everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie. Connected? They say that "how you do anything is how you do everything..."

That's weird - I don't know how frames would mess up his eyes, unless he was stupid enough to use prescription lenses when he didn't need them (like if he just bought old glasses with prescription lenses, instead of plain glass lenses). Otherwise, it would just be like looking through a glass window.
Anyhow, I think it's lame to wear glasses when you don't need them. It just seems so incredibly affected. "I'm pretending to have vision problems because it makes me look cool..." OK, buddy. Whatever you say.
Some people think they look better in glasses. Let them be, it harms nobody.
Agree. Glasses aren't so cheap these days, but if someone wants to spend the money, then let them.
