When I was young there were "ideals" too but the leg thing was a small diamond at the top of the thigh, then the thighs touched until the knee where there was another small diamond then again at the ankle. The "thigh gap" of today, where the legs look like they are attached to the outer part of the hip, is pretty weird.

You can pretty much get any of these results by the way you stand however, it's not necessarily a natural stand either.

She still has that "triangle" in her groin, but her thigs touch simply because they are so muscular. Granted I'm sure most women who's thighs touch it isn't because they are too muscular and squat nearly twice their body weight lol.
I would like to tag onto this. Yes, a lack of a thigh gap may be due to your exercise regime, but it also may be the way you are built.

For anyone who is able, rotate your hip bones inward and the thighs will touch. It bothers me that so many young women lack so much knowledge about the human form.

When i used to dance and model, i was 5'7" and 110lb. When we were getting our review and measurements, i was always given the comment "exercise thighs."

We knew long before that "spot reducing" did not work! Exercising my thighs would have just made them larger!!

I've grown to love my "large thighs " after getting out of the business. And since your breasts keep growing, my larger thighs provide a "better balance. "

I've never had this and never will. I naturally have thick thighs. I work out all the time and I will never have that no matter how low of weight I go to...

I think the thigh gap craze is absolutely ridiculous. I have a young sister who is obsessed with it and thinks she is fat unless she has one. I can't get through her head that not having a thigh gap does not equate to being fat. People really shouldn't encourage this type of thing, it's almost entirely body shape related rather than weight related.

I have a thigh gap no matter what I do. So why not love yourself no matter which you have, instead of bashing people for having one or starving to get one? It can be hot, but so are thick thighs. Healthy weight and BMI are key either way.

Thigh gap. Bikini bridge. Gaggle of girls walking bowlegged to prevent thigh touch.

WTF.

Are my elbows knobby enough?? I should probably permanently march around with my arms bent to ensure that FAT dares NOT interrupt their bony beauty!

I mean for god's sake, the **** people are worrying about, you'd think that women are regularly being forcibly tackled in Starbucks by the Measuring Tape Authorities.

I've always been aware that some men like "the gap". But I always thought it looked rather gross and I'm glad I don't have it.
