No disrespect here. I'm just stating that since African Americans can usually trace other ethnic origins in their racial makeup, that's not entirely true. All women need upkeep for their hair, their skin their bodies as they age. That's just a part and reality of being human. It's a medical fact that if one abuses their bodies with neglect, it will show.

Right. Give me the average Joe or Jane who has aged well. Much more interesting.

Give me person, regular person with no makeup or plastic surgeries, next to a famous or super rich person with no makeup or plastic surgeries and then compare who has aged the best.
Unfortunately that would be impossible sense pretty much all celebrities have had work done.

I think the old adage you are attempting to refute inherently IS based on the wider range of genes people of African descent have to pull from. The more gene diversity, the wider pool to select from and avoid genetic conditions potentially harmful to one's physical appearance over time:

African DNA has more genetic diversity - Telegraph

Study Finds Africans More Genetically Diverse Than Other Populations

From looking at the list of mainly Hollywood stars, it seems as if people are choosing those who have aged well based on their level of fame rather than truly looking good for their age. When I look at those who have seemed to not age appreciably over the span of 20 or 30 years (with the exception of normal weight gain due to age) I would say that the bar needs to be raised. If using only famous folks, look at the following celebs all about 50 years old (give or take a couple of years):

Eddie Murphy

Blair Underwood

Don Cheadle

Michael Jordan

Viola Davis

So even if you do not think Viola Davis is the "most famous" or "prettiest" actress in Hollywood, this is a nearly 50 years old without....ahem, "enhancements".

I wish I aged like most of the black men and women I know!

Not a wrinkle. Cheeks still full.

No, Cate definitely looks her age (45) or older:
