Why do so many middle aged people think they look young for their age. Nearly everyone I know goes on and on about how young they feel and look and are so proud that they think they look 10 years younger than their real age.
Trouble is most of them really do look their age or even older and are in denial.
Will anyone here actually admit they look like someone their age or even look older than their age?
I will, I look every day of my 62 years of age, and more!

I never thought I looked young for my age, but many others told me I did; however, I agree with you as I've heard people say they looked young for their age and I didn't think so. I painted a portrait of my mother once and she didn't like it because she said it made her look old. Many years later, she liked it.
Well, sorry. I happen to know I look good for my age. my boyfriend is 20 years younger than me. I dont smoke, dont drink, stay out of sun and take amazing care of my skin, work out and get enough sleep. If you look you r age then Im sorry for you. Here in SoCal....thats a crime

I'm the same way. I think I look my age (28) but most people tell me I look like I'm 19-20. I often wonder if peoples image of what a 30 year old really looks like is skewed by Hollywood. A lot of shows have people that are 25-30 years old playing teenagers, so we get used to the idea that someone who is that old (not that its old, but certainly not a teenager) looks like a high school student.
However, at my last several jobs, coworkers have reacted with surprise when finding out my age (or, usually, my husband's age - or military rank, which implies a certain age, as we live on a military installation); they have apparently taken me for younger and are surprised at my age.
I don't think it's that I necessarily LOOK more youthful than my years, although as a very fair person who steers clear of the sun, I DO have exceptionally youthful skin, compared to my peers who were teens in the era of tanning beds. I think it's that I have a youthful demeanor, due to always having worked with kids and teens. I don't ACT like a middle-aged person, I suppose.
When I chance a reflection on random occasions I think omg, I look so tired. Usually when people try to guess my age they under guess me by 15-18 years. I don't get it - I assume they are just trying to be nice. Maybe because I smile a lot, who knows.
