We don't need to use soap with added triclosan. The soap and water alone clean adequately. We don't need to kill germs on our bodies; we just need to wash them away. The soap and water do that.

According to the FDA, there's no evidence it's harmful to humans, but there also is no evidence that triclosan is any more effective than plain soap and water:

At this time, FDA does not have evidence that triclosan added to antibacterial soaps and body washes provides extra health benefits over soap and water. Consumers concerned about using hand and body soaps with triclosan should wash with regular soap and water.
Triclosan: What Consumers Should Know

We don't need to be putting unnecessary anti-bacterial compounds in our water supply.

Before I had surgery, I had to shower with Dial Soap, to prevent infection.

If you're eating it, it could be dangerous. Other than that, I'm sure you're quite safe

When it gets into the water supply, we are eating it.

This is the thing: It's not necessary, unless, of course, you're having surgery. But none of us do that on a daily basis.

To be safe, I'd avoid it. There are plenty of more natural alternatives. Shower frequently in warmer weather. Why take a risk?

Btw, there have been many cancer deaths in my family and extended family and Dial was the "family soap". It's anecdotal, but it's enough for me.

People with psoriasis and eczema are often prone to skin infections. It might help people with those skin conditions to use an antibacterial soap. There are some other brands of mildly medicated soaps that are used to treat mild skin infections; now I wonder if they use the same ingredient?
