Ive started to wonder if maybe "dark" could mean "mysterious" or the like instead of a physical attribute. Kind of a "bad boy" type.

From the first written use of the term "Tall dark and Handsome" in 1833 and again in the movie in 1941 they had dark hair. From the movie, Cesar Romero is the Prototype "Tall dark and Handsome". Olive complexion, dark hair and eyes.

Agree, the original term meant tall (obvious) handsome (subjective to each woman) and dark (hair mostly
but some had hazel or blue eyes as well). Thumbs up, that it no longer is limited to the original
label.
