When you see a man with a shaved head, what sort of impression does it give you?

When I shaved my head, one of my female coworkers said it made me look meaner. Mostly I got favorable responses. But the "meaner" statement got me thinking.

In my part of the country, shaved heads are not that uncommon. Three other guys at my church have shaved heads. As an added detail I have a small trim beard (just on chin-no mustache)

It means he has a shaved head. I don't attribute any real meaning to it.

I might wonder for a second whether he's going bald or whether he chose to shave his head, especially if he's young. That's it. I'm so used to shaved heads that they don't make any impression on me.

The reason I shaved my head was thinning and gray hair.

Solved both problems.

Eh, old and square I guess. I think of neo-nazis as well.

Shaved completely bald? It makes me think that he's trying to be something that he's not. If you're balding, you're balding. Accept yourself as you are. Shaving your head bald is only going to make you look like you're trying to hide your balding-ness.

I disagree...it takes balls to shave your head.

Not sure I'd shave mine, but maybe go with a tight buzzcut.

I think the exact OPPOSITE. Shaving your head IS accepting who you are imo: you are balding, might as well just accept it and buzz or shave it. I do not see it as trying to "hide it" just accepting and embracing it.

Too vague. Shaved heads are pretty common now. It really appears on how you dress and your attitude. Mohawks use to be punk rock but now I see total nerds and wimps with mohawks.
