Do you resize or reshape your clothes, like cut of the sleeves, crop your tees or tanks, resize the length or width for a different fit, and basically have fun making new stuff out of oddly sized or unused clothes. Or do you typically wait for the sale and buy a fresh set.
I used to make my unused t shirts into tanks for exercise, but now I buy them fresh out of a sale.
I alter clothes for a better fit, but not to look like new clothes, just to look like they fit the right way. Mostly the only things I change are armholes, darts, and the length of pants or skirts.
Not until they wear out. When I have a pair of jeans that wears out, I sometimes make them into white trash cutoff shorts to wear for gardening. Other than that, no. I don't like to wear wife beaters so I keep the sleeves on all my shirts.
Quite often. I have purchased a number of maxi dresses over the years that were well priced, but more often than not I'll usual cut them to knee length. I sometimes chang neck and sleeve lines on clothing. Just yesterday, I butchered a pair of sandals that I bought at Marshalls because I found the instep bothersome, but, I really liked the sandal otherwise, so, I carved them. I wouldn't have done so if they had been a more expensive shoe. But they feel perfect on my feet now. I take close in and let them out if need be, self taught mostly, but if I need a little help, there are hundreds of youtube videos to assist. .
For the record, the clothing items, I mostly was referring to that were purchase brand new, but, I've also altered older items as well. The problem with the dresses in the summer styles I like, either they're too short or too long/maxi so I buy the angle length ones and shorten them to just below my knees.
