You don't want your toes bobbing around all willy-nilly, do ya?  What would everyone think?
I went to college with a guy who was barefoot summer and winter, unless the temps dropped below 20 degrees. Then he wore boots. No info on whether he wore socks or not.

BUT you COULD stick a panti-liner in a shoe (instead of wearing socks).

i know, your toes could get infected, become chafed or heaven forbid start to sag without socks.
