... speaking of which, does anyone have a second toe longer than the "big" toe. I know of someone who has this.

yes, it's a well known genetic defect that usually means they won't like underwear.

One summer, one of my sons was back home from college. I realized I had not seen any dirty socks in the wash so went to find out where his socks were.
He said "Oh, I have lost most of them - only have two pairs. I just spray them w/ lysol and wear them again."
Seriously. Seems that is how he had gotten through his last semester at school. EEEWWWWWW.

i worked with a college aged dude in a bookstore who was frequently out of socks. we have to dust the bookstore with those swiffer cloths and i saw the swiffers sticking out of his shoes once because he used them as socks.

I know that we all lose skin cells, but this is really an issue for you? Can you see it in your shoes if you go without socks?

Apparently I "must spread some Reputation around before giving it to hollygolightly again."

Hmmm, you must be quite the toe connoisseur. If I were to post a picture of my feet may I have your expert opinion of my toes?

Yes absolutely. Socks are definitly necessary. Without socks there would be no sock monkeys, no sock cats, no sock puppets, no sock hops, no wind socks. No rock em sock em robots. Gasp. No Chrismas socks. No sock it to me. No one would be able to put a sock in it. How will we survive.
I dont wear them in the summer cause my feets cant breathe. Im old I gets overheated. I do wear them in the winter if its a little chilly but never to bed. I have standards. I do have quite a collection of festive hoilday socks tho. Somewhere I even have a pair of toe socks. Tday I wore my Christmoose socks.
