thanks! nudist? hmmm, probably not (though i have been known to go topless at parties). if you ask my husband he'd probably call me a prudist.

One of my friends sent me a sock chain letter about a year ago. It could have been fun, but I did not finish the job. What they asked for is an unusal pair of socks. So I went on an unusal sock hunt. I found a pair that are Spanish. THey say something in Spanish on them, but since I do not speak or understand Spanish, I can't tell ya what they say exactly. I will have to look for them and then I will post it and maybe one of you s could tell me what they say. Man, that was alot of words. Oh look, I spelled alot, alot. LOL

I would have ended up with 36 brand new pair of socks as long as everyone participated. My world went to sh**ts at that peticular time, so I was unable to finish it and get it all sent out. I can always do it again, I suppose?!?

now that you mention it, every year at Christmas, I try to arrange a gift exchange within my family ... I guess 2 years ago we did a sock exchange. However, I can't really say that anyone bought any socks that were unique or unusual.

I am so bad at washing socks that (gulp) every day I dress my daughter in a brand new pair. I do collect them and wash them, and they are all the same (I buy them at Target in, like, 10 packs). So occasionally she'll wear them again. That just sounds so bad, I know.

PS - I'd just like to know if you show up topless to these parties, or just lose the top at some point? I did sunbathe topless when I lived in Europe, but everyone else was topless and I didn't want to stand out

Think I'm going to jump in here with a little story from a man's point of view, back in the first part of December was in Washington, DC for a very formal black tie dinner affair, had to wear a tuxedo and all that stuff, and all of the men that were there were also wearing tuxedos down at the Renaissance Hotel, the big ballroom there, you know with a tuxedo you have the pleated shirt that's white, the black vest, black jacket, black bow tie, black pants, black shoes, then along comes this one guy with the whitest pair of socks I have ever seen in my life, now who wears white socks with a black tuxedo.

White socks with a tux? Maybe he was trying to start a new trend. A long time ago when my oldest son was about 3 years old he was in a wedding. We had a little tux for him and it had a red bow tie. We had the little black shoes but for the life of me I could not find black socks. I did, however find some little red socks. So, I dressed him in his tux with a red bow and red socks. Everyone thought he was the cutest thing! We weren't trying to make a fashion statement, I just couldn't find black socks for little kids. But everyone thought I dressed him that way on purpose.

I wear socks 24/7 up here in the freezing north(showering being the exception) because I like being able to actually feel my toes. I do not like the look of socks though, so wear the "no show" variety. While we are on the subject, why can't someone make some that don't have annoying seams that bunch up by my pinky toes??
