Have used bare minerals for years notice lately shows lines of aging on my face. Looks almost dry...suggestions needed for new product
I watched the adverts on the tv and I hesitated, don't know why, now I understand why. I use an excellent product Monsia Skin Renewal System as my base and only use Boots #7 Foundation Match Made Service - Warm Sand. I need very little to cover face & neck, no powder necessary, just a little blusher and mascara - I'm 70.
I have tried Bare Minerals and a few other similar products, and they make me look like a dried up old hag. I think they're fine for young people but not beyond middle age.
I'm in my late 40s and don't use the Bare Minerals face powder anymore for that reason. I use a liquid foundation of theirs instead and like it. It's serum-based something or other. You just have to meticulously moisturize and exfoliate with it, or it too will show up dry patches.
I use their clear primer first, which gives a smoother surface to my pores and fine lines. I am 41 and liquid foundation doesn't suit me. I am too fair and freckly for opaque coverage, and I invariably look too orange or pink or yellow.
Agree with everyone that Bare Minerals powders for younger skin. It does not give me the coverage I want (too sheer - almost zero coverage I would say). And skin becomes so dry. I wasted my money once on it. Now I stick with medium to heavy coverage liquid make up. CD Nude is my favorite. It is light on skin, almost invisible but with excellent coverage and moisturizes skin.
I agree with all the posters who said the powder is now starting to make your skin too dry. When you are younger the skin has more natural moisture (oil) and powders work well on it. But as we start to age, the powders are too drying. Best to find a moisturizer you like, and then use a liquid foundation over it if you desire.
