I swear by Skechers' 'Go Walk' series, especially the original. It's a slip on with superior cushion & comfort. I use it for my daily walk, my city walk, any walk, and my feet were fine. I've worn it with and without socks with no issues but I like it better with socks. It comes with all kinds of color.

Another one to try is Aravon, by New Balance. I have narrow, flat feet and they have become my go-to brand when I am not wearing sneakers.

I also have wide feet and have trouble finding shoes that fit.
I do like Hush Puppies Women's Angya Sandal (in wide width) for everyday walking.
I don't know if they are available in wide width anymore, but maybe others of the same brand would work out.

I took three trips to Europe with the same pair of Naot shoes (one of the trips was to France). I had some back-ups with me, but I never wore them. The Naots were simple, black Mary Janes, went with pants or skirts, and were super supportive and comfortable. The downside is the price, generally averaging around $180 for a pair of women's flats. They come in wide widths.

I've also had good luck with Propét shoes being great for walking and I have Achilles tendon issues. I live in Arizona so I wear a lot of sandals and they have many sandal styles, as well as boots and other shoe types. Propét makes medium and wide widths for women and men. They are significantly less expensive than Naot shoes. ShoeBuy.com, Zappos.com, and Amazon carry them, in addition to many stores.
Propét USA, Inc.

Have a great time on your trip! Paris is a yippee, indeed.
