My husband has to wear a long-sleeved button-down workshirt to work, it's cotton, but he wears a V-neck Under Armour undershirt with it so the sweats is wicked off and it's breathable.

Are you looking for a dress shirt or will an outdoorsy shirt like this do?

Any fabric or type of shirt I should avoid?? These shirts are also button down, I should mention.
My sons live in a hot and humid climate overseas and I am always looking for a variety of clothing which may or may not be athletic wear but with one defining component...it wicks moisture away from the body.

Her is my most recent search and results, maybe you will find something that is affordable and suits your needs.

Good luck!

Fabulous material for hot weather. I bought the first one in anticipation of the terrible summer heat here in TX. I wanted something with sunscreen fabric that wasn't too tight (so I could wear it over other clothes all year round, while cycling or gardening) and this shirt was beyond my wildest hopes!

If your dress code includes a tie, you'll most likely have to find a shirt in lightweight cotton. Try LLBean Signature.

The problem with linen is that it wrinkles and creases... so you'll feel like an origami creation by the end of the day. Silk is great, but it tends to show perspiration stains.
