Glad to come across this thread! I look at myself and think "man did i F##k things up"..to much partying in the 80's and 90's
that have me at where i am now. I have a decent job but could have done much better if not for my past..

That's what i think..I don't think about my hair or shaving..

I still have my looks and look good for all I've been through, it's the past that haunts me.

I think, "Gee, they don't make mirrors the way they used to."

I have a hard time understanding what I see in the mirror. I see an average looking woman in the mirror. Most people tell me I look ugly, and my face looks like a mans face. I have never seen a man in the mirror. I guess maybe because I know I am female. I honestly wish for one day I could see what I look like through someone else's eyes. I've seen pictures of me, and I don't think I look as bad as people say I do. I see an average looking female in the pictures as well. I've shared my photo online to some people, and they say they see an average looking female. So I must be extremely photogenic.

I am quite pleased. I am pushing 50 but look at least 10 years younger. Others agree, everyone is surprised at how old I am and btw this is despite the fact that I'm balding. I credit my skinny build, being thin keeps me looking young.

This goes against everything our culture tells us and will sound strange to many but for my entire life I have admired my lack of muscularity. I am the rare person (perhaps the only one?) who thinks the bulked up, well developed male body is ugly...not just the freaky looking over muscular guy but any level of muscularity. When I was a young man I would look in the mirror and be in awe of how good my skinny build looked to me. The outside world absolutely disagreed and I want to say that many people, of both genders,
Had an almost angry reaction at how skinny I was. These days I don't sense any of that outrage at all. I like what I see in the mirror and the outside world generally does too.
