Ditto, for the most part. If I don't get enough sleep, though, I can look pretty rough.

I usually think, "What the *F@#K!" But I'm living a good life, have my health, a great spouse and I'm not starving so no sense bitchin about getting older. It is hard to accept aging but the sooner we can accept it, the happier we will be. And a certain point, there is just no denying it, no matter how steamy the mirror. Try to be kind to yourself.

Me too, ha ha...just kidding...for a middle aged woman a pair of tweezers does the trick, although its a painful process and definetly a form of torture!

Celebrities, for the most part, are bad role models for anything. There are very vew that I'd actually want to meet or know irl if I could. And yes, its like we all 'wish' we could look ageless like them, but without plastic surgury and botox, personal trainers and all the other priveledges they have over the common people, like me, there is no way I could keep up with that. But, I don't dream of keeping up with them, I don't think I could. I just want to be accepted the way that I am.

I'm kind of glad that I don't live in a city in the sunbelt area. I live in a smallish Canadian city where being pale and middle aged with a huge derriere isn't considered the end of life as we know it... but if I lived in Miami or LA or someplace where more people were more critical about checking each other out, or obsessing about looking eternally young and lean and tanned all the time... well, I can't even imagine it, actually. I'd probably rebel and get covered in tattoos...
I think getting tattoos and expanders and coloring your hair a wild color and all of that are rebellion against that form of idealized beauty, and I see it all around me here in the bay area. I live in a smaller city in the east bay, and a lot of people DO try to keep up with perfection here too. But, more people don't and thats their way of saying 'f.u.' to the standards.

ha ha ha! I can totally relate! I'm in the process of moving right now and doing 90% of it myself, this morning I woke up feeling like I'm about 70 years old...all stiff muscles and aches and pains! And another half day of moving ahead.
