I have never worn platforms, but I want some

I can't wear the spikey type of heels so they'll have to be moderate thickness type of heels...

I'm a retro-ish 1940-1950's type of fashionista...I'm tired of the ballet flats. They are cute, but I want sexy

Any tips for fit, finding them, or how to walk are most appreciated

Hugs and thanks,
AB

Try Zappos.com and Shoemall.com. They're great. You can sort according to what you want, and by size.

I love 1940's fashion too and I have a boatload of 40's wedges and platforms! I get them off Ebay because it's pretty rare that you are going to find authentic 40's or even 40's-looking shoes anywhere else.

I was at Macy's last night to buy some shoes to wear tonight to our office Christmas party and they had some shoes with the chunkier heel and peep toes that were kind of retro-40's looking.
