Anyone else into luxury or bespoke fragrances?

I collect perfumes, either bespoke (custom), botanical or niche/luxury. I've been collecting fragrances for over a decade now. I couldn't care less about fashion or accessories. I'm all about things that smell divine -- fragrances and luxury body and skin care products.

I'm currently eyeing a few luxury perfumes from new perfume houses. A large part of it is that I tie scents with memories, and scents can trigger memories. I still have and wear scents from many years ago, and when I do I can recall memories of that time quite vividly. And certain scents, niche and luxury, can have a very powerful and emotional effect. I also tie certain scents with music. I recently commissioned a natural perfumer to create a perfume inspired by a favorite musical composition. I'll receive a couple prototypes in a few weeks, and then the finished product thereafter.

Oh, me too!

And I wonder if you might be able to help me -- I have a favorite fragrance from a small company long out of business. One last drop in the bottle. Do you know of a place that might be able to make me a duplicate of it?

I'm a huge niche fragrance collector. It's gotten so bad that I barely even bother with mainstream stuff anymore. I don't buy full bottles of fragrances though...only decants.

This vendor has a list of rare or discontinued scents:

Classic Discontinued or Reformulated Scents Every Perfumista should smell - pick 3 - Decanted Fragrances and Perfume Samples - The Perfumed Court

Some perfumers will try to reconstruct/recreate a scent. You can search for "custom" or "bespoke" perfume.

I like decants and/or samples, but there are a few that I will pay full price for the bottle. Lately I've been into custom and bespoke, but I recently received a few samples that I simply love and very much want the full bottle. But indeed, samples and decants are much nicer on the wallet.

Oh, I love the perfumed court! But they don't have the one I am looking for... it is not even in the basenotes directory. Ever heard of a perfume company called Ananda?

I tried googling bespoke, and duplicate, perfumes, but no one seemed to be doing what I am looking for (scentmatchers seems to have a terrible rep). I guess I should post on a perfumista forum?

Yes. I love niche and custom-made fragrances, in addition to mainstream ones. I have a big collection beautiful fragrances which is threatening to take over my dresser.

I've gotten decants for years to help me manage my collection. With them I can experience many great scents without the investment of a full-sized bottle until I'm ready.

As far as ScentMatchers goes, people either totally love it or totally hate it. It's a crapshoot as to whether they can copy the fragrance to your liking. A couple of people I know had copies made and were very satisfied with the results.

Someone on a perfumista forum recommended this one for duplicating perfumes.

I know nothing about this company. I looked at the website and it seems a bit too mystical for me. But check it out and see what you think.

I have some of Love Potion's scents!

You can also try Lori at Violet Market. She created a really nice scent for me.
