What is the name of those shoes that you can buy and when you do, another pair will go to someone in a South (or Central?) American country? They are canvas top and a jute-looking bottom.
Whenever we go to Mexico, I take my old shoes and just give them out to people who don't have shoes.
That is an admirable gesture but we give first to needy American children as I believe charity begins at home and home is America.
Whenever my Wife and I buy new shoes , sneakers, or any type of footwear, we clean the old ones up and take them to the nearest shelter for battered women or home for the orphans.
This is not to take away from what you are doing but many are blind to the plight of needy American kids.
