Do you have any idea how many people who have absolutely zero Jewish lineage are running around with many of the zillions of names that are of Hebrew origins? There is absolutely no law that states that you may not have a name that does not reflect your ethnic background. Hell, many black Americans with a background that goes back to the pre-Civil War era have Irish and Scots surnames due to their taking on and inheriting the names of slave-owning plantation families. My (white, southern) Mom's surname is Scots, and apart from our family, every other person we have ever met with this fairly uncommon Scottish surname happens to be black.

It does, really. Imo, a name not only indicates a person's generation and family background, but does have some impact on the way others see them. I will not consider someone reliable if he's named Despicable.

Yeah, I have to admit I am inclined to dislike someone if I can't pronounce their name. This includes the last names of 90% of Polish people. I have no idea how to say Wolchyzskisyskyktchski.

So because you don't know how to pronounce a name, you dislike the person?

I just looked at my lunch receipt.

Server name was Roykeisha.
Take a wild guess what kind of food they sell.

I'd post my receipt if I know how.

If someone dislikes someones name and judge him or her because of it, disliker has poor social etc. skills. Persons name does not make a person, personality does.

I agree, but I think we all have preconceived notions of certain names, only because of past positive/negative encounters with people of the same name.
