In May, NBC News/Wall Street Journal released a poll that found 40% of Americans have someone in their household with a tattoo, up from 21% from 15 years ago. Last year, Forbes magazine said tattoos were becoming "increasingly unproblematic across the board," even in the workplace.

Well the Maoris may disagree as to the social acceptance of facial tattoos.

But I agree we are a long way to becoming a nation of Queeguegs. Facial tattoos are too associated gangs and such. I don't mind tattoos, but facial tattoos IMHO are just too in your face.

Yep. I have my own tattoos but I would never have one on the face or neck, and I really do not like them on other people. I do not judge the fact that they have them, however.

I could definitely see facial tatoos on Pacific Islanders. Reviving the tatoo tradition. That would be cool. On Europoids? Not so much.
