I also worked in a shoe store before and people rarely asked for those giant shoe sizes back then.
I remember a young guy around 18 and about 5 ft 6' wore a size 13 shoe
I wear a size 9 but my maternal grandmother worn a size 12 shoe which wasn't so common when she was a young woman.
Count me in--I wear a size 11 (used to be 9.5 to 10 before having a child). My Grandma on my Dad's side was tall (and so am I) and wore at least a size 10, and she was born in the early 1900s. I remember her often wearing moccasin style shoes because they were easier to get her foot in. Back in her young days, it must have been hard to find ladies shoes in that size. It must be those Danish roots!
seems people these days have Extra large feet? (girl, fashion, buy)
I havent really noticed this in real life except for the fact that places always seem to run out of my size shoes which 10.5.
What I HAVE noticed is that online (CD and other discussion websites) is that there seems to be an ungodly number of people with wide feet. I have never in my life met a person (or friend at least) who needed to have E, EE, EEE, wide, extra wide or other type of non-normal feet. And I know a LOT of dancers. But here I always am just astonished when there are threads about shoes at how many people talk about they have wide feet and cant fit normal shoes.
I've always had big feet. I was a size 9 (adult size) when I was 10. I was a size 10 before I had my daughter 3 years ago. Now I am a size 11. Try finding decent looking heels in that size... It's sad
My daughter finds great (not just decent) heels at Nordstroms; she is also a size 11.
