I have decided to wear a corset as the top half of an alternative wedding outfit. I have worn them before, and am getting a brocade overbust corset custom made for me in probably red and black (not sure about the color yet). My dilemma is, I am also getting the corsetier to make me a skirt made to match the corset, but I can't decide what type of skirt to ask her to make. I am very short (5'2"), very chesty, normal weight (size 8-10 dress), and have an hourglass figure, thus the need for the custom corset. I have tried wedding dresses on before, and the mermaid/trumpet fit looks good. I don't want the skirt to be too poofy, because I don't want to look like a chubby marshmellow. Suggestions appreciated!

I love that bustier, it's beautiful. Are you going for the steampunk look? A long fishtail skirt would look good. As a short woman myself I find anything poofy makes you look dumpy whereas streamlined clothing makes me look better.

That skirt is beautiful! I love the ruffles and the corset back would complement the top perfectly. Since it is a skinny cut, it would also make me look taller. I may have found my answer already

Another option is to have a skirt with a detachable bustle. thats what I had made. the silhouette is still slim but you have beautiful cascading bustle down the back which looks amazing for the ceremony when your back is to the audience, but then later for the party you can remove it if you want to sit dance eat etc. Just my two cents

I think it looks really lovely and the skirt I would team it up with would be this pattern https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/2176...w_type=gallery bearing in mind how tiny you are. Fabric I think I would choose would be a heavy satin silk -color of your choice.
