Stephen Hawking worries about sending signals into space. Right about now pictures may have made it out 34 light years.

Well the 80's hair styles were a big improvement over the 1970's:

It's not like these were average pictures of people picked at random from the 1980s. Obviously the person who compiled these photos was looking for the most overdone, bizarre hair-don'ts of all (and did a good job at it).

I think I went to school with all those folks. And I'm guilty of having hair like some of those shots, although my hair is naturally curly.

No, that's pretty much what many of us looked like on Long Island. The girls anyway.

Oops, I meant rat tail.

Some people wore 70s hairstyles in the 80s, and some people in the 90s were still wearing 80s hair styles, at least here where I live.

I think the 60s hippie hair & clothing style is probably the style that has lasted the longest through decades because I had a lot of hippie friends in the 70s & 80s and have met & seen a lot of hippie types through the decades after.

those hairstyles remind me of the movie Flashdance 1983 , women were into aerobic dance exersize wearing tights, leg warmers, headbands

also inspired by the movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta , lots of people used to get perms, body waves

no tattoos yet, the tattoo craze came later

I went to high school in the middle of nowhere and many in my yearbook had hairdos like that well into the 1990s...
