Don't know where these pictures were taken but I swear I don't remember ANYBODY with such wild hairdos. We did have the wild perm look but nothing like these.

I was in school during the 80's and I DEFINITELY remember most of these hairstyles. There was no such thing as too permed, too teased, or too much hairspray. Thank gawd we got over that!

Wow, I was around back then, but these look like pictures of the kind of kids that tried too hard and just didn't 'get it.' Pretty sure those do's would have been considered really bad even back then, lol.

Before the 80s were out, I was born but I don't remember what was going on as a baby/toddler. I suppose that I would like the dancing outfits with the leg warmers and fluffy curly hair XD

Oh, I definitely remember seeing those horrid hairdos! I wouldn't say that these extreme ones were common, but bad perms were everywhere. And bushy eyebrows and weird makeup. I've always felt that the 80's were the WORST for hair and face.

There was also a period in the 80's when it seemed like all women were wearing short hair. Like poster #1, I kept my loooong hair midway over my butt, without crazy bangs, and it always drew a lot of attention and compliments.

Those photos definitely stack up to what people were doing in the late 80s in my high school. Especially the "winging out" the moussed and teased perms and bangs with a blowdrier and aerosol hairspray. Tall bangs, blown back sides...I don't know why it was ever popular for hair to look fried and damaged, but it was.

Funnily enough, I also had long (could sit on it) straight hair, when everyone else had moussed spiral perms and crispy, crunchy bangs.

I do like the full (but groomed) eyebrow look, though. The tweezed-pencil-thin look of the 90s was the pits. Didn't partake in that one, either.

Fuller eyebrows are very much back in vogue now.
