I would love to recreate the look but have no idea where to find that kind of clothing. Advice?

Ebay would be a good start. I am into 1970's movies, clothing and fashion and that's where I started. Some sellers are offering magazines from that period as well, which would give more detailed ideas for clothing, hair, makeup, etc...i've also used Etsy on occasion

Do you know how to sew? Why not make your own clothing. The movie studios do that.

Here is a place that carries vintage styles.

I too like that look. Most of the boots I wear daily are based off of work boots from the 1900's. The company that makes them is just shy of 100 years old.

If you don't sew, you can find a seamstress and have her make up some garments using the Vintage Vogue and Retro Butterick patterns from that period. I love the lines of '40s clothes as well.

In 1940, women wore dresses, two piece suits, skirts and blouses or occasionally pants. The dress was shaped like an hour glass and two piece suits were very popular in that time and I would like to wear such clothes specially in this winter.

Can't tell you exactly where to get clothes, but this burlesque dancer is a great inspiration for 40's fashion. She makes her own clothing, and she used to sell it but it doesn't seem like she's been doing that lately. For her it's not costume, but daily living.

I'd also stalk consignment shops. You can find some great stuff in them sometimes.
