Seems not wearing socks is causing foot problems like athletes foot.... arent their socks made especially for loafers that cant be seen...or throwaway insoles maybe..
There are socks, we used to call them "peds", short e, to be worn when the sockless look was desired. When I was younger, I had malodorous feet. I had to throw away my shoes after only a few wearings, and no amount of soaps, powders, lotions or what-have-you was helpful.
As I got older, I realized that wearing my shoes without socks was the major culprit and I began to be very judicious about putting my shoes on with stockings, or peds. Since then, no problem.
Given the cost of good shoes, I think it's important to do whatever one must to preserve them, from wear, weather, and stink. They do make peds for men.
No foot covering? Only with sandals or thongs. Otherwise, be good to your feet and your shoes.
Well, I guess it depends on the individual. I've worn loafers without socks and I get by just fine with powder and cotton insoles. No smell or shoe damage to speak of.
Without but with some type of foot powder (or baby powder).
Here's with I tend to agree with: it's likely that those who voted for 'without' are "better" looking and more fit and "younger" than those who voted for 'with'.
As in reality, "better" looking people are fewer in numbers, likewise, those who voted for 'without' will always be outnumbered.
This thread (so far) bears this out: 'mega man' does not strike me as old or overweight.
And look at dizzybint's Stewart Granger: fit and not bad looking.
