Depends on age too. Young active kids need daily bath and hormonal kids and teens need showers daily. At one point in my life it was not unusual for me to shower twice a day..once to wake up and after exercise or swimming.
Now at 68 I can go 2 days if I don't move too much. My skin and hair are much dryer since I don't have female hormones anymore. Diabetics also suffer from dry skin.
Do a PTA bath...use your imagination or ask somebody who has ever been in the military.
When I used to go to school or work it was pretty much everyday, but now that I've been home most of the days and not going out much at all it's more like a few times a week. I agree pretty strongly that it is not necessary everyday I could understand that too much would be bad for the skin, so doing it only if you tend to have a strong B.O is the most logical thing to do in my opinion. I really never could understand why people would do it multiple times a day or anything like that, it seems very obsessive and that's what I assume it is, which is fine, but I hate when people give someone a strange look once they hear that the person does not shower multiple times or at least once every single day. Once again, unless they smell pretty bad you wouldn't even know if they showered or not.
I can't imagine not showering everyday. Your body has natural oils that come off on upholstery, and when it builds up it stinks and it's nasty. I would not allow anyone to get in the bed with me that hadn't showered that day.
If showering everyday dries your skin too much, try using cooler water and moisturizing body wash.
Easier said than done - living in the south you're more exposed to heat and humidity so yeah, more often...but in the winter you get none of the dry heat when the indoor humidity can be as low as 10%. Also, the older you get, the less sweat and the less oil so "stinky" is not the issue it was when you're 20!
It really depends on several variables. During the summer in the Midwest, once per day or more. Twice per day in some areas.
If you move to the mountain west where there is almost no humidity, you can shower less frequently. If you are not sweating, you won't need to shower as often.
People that demand showering everyday and think "it is nasty" if someone does not shower every day, are probably people that live in an area where it is nasty to not shower frequently.
Right now it's cold and rainy. I'm not going out and am just going to watch the football games from the comfort of my home. I will not shower. I'm going out tomorrow a.m. and will shower. Like what others say, it just depends.
When I am working I shower everyday. When not working every 2 or 3 days.
