I am also extremely fond of my Clarks Un.Loop slip ons.

Un.Loop in Black - Womens Shoes from Clarks

The athletic shoes I like best are Saucony, though I can't find a link to the exact model I wear.

I'm a guy, but my Merrell's are great. Super lightweight and not too spendy. I'd look into them for sure.

I second Clarks, just bought a pair of their high heeled dress boots and they have a lot of padding. There was no break in period either. You might also consider Rockports. I know my mom has a pair of their boots she's been wearing for at least 10 years.

Clarks, SAS, Naot, Merrell - all good. Most women's shoes have no arch support (they hurt and..men would never buy shoes this uncomfortable) and those same painful shoes don't have insoles that can removed so you couldn't change it to your own if you wanted to.

I like SAS shoes--they are made in Texas and fit my feet. They are not cheap but sometimes you can find new ones on eBay for less. My "nice" casual shoes are "Viva" by SAS--can walk all day in them.
