I would love to see this exhibit. Amazing the fabrics are so well cared for.

Wow ... I hope that becomes a traveling exhibit. I'd love to see it as well! Maybe we should lobby for the NC Museum of Art to get something like this? LOL

neat - that would be a big money making exhibit here too.
Althought I always wished I was braver and did NOT wear a white gown. I really look terrible in all shades of white. Being my skin is already pasty irish complected.
During the depression, my granma got married in navy blue velvet. She said that was trendy at the time. Women could only afford one new dress and obviously a white gown you only wore once was not practical.

I'm really hoping to!! Trying to figure out if I can manage to make it a day trip or if I should bite the bullet and stay in Asheville.

I've seen pictures of many of the costumes in that exhibit, and I bet the detailing is best appreciated in person.

Seems like a very long day trip as touring Biltmore is 3 hours at least-if you include the grounds.

I've toured the house before ... I'm mainly interested in the DA costumes.

(and maybe the free wine tasting! LOL But then how will I get home?)
