How? Why?

It's very homo and metrosexual and I will never be a fan.

Normal came and went around 2010, imo. We're now into the short shorts territory. I don't really wear shorts that often, they've always landed either right at or right above my knees, barring the time I was in high school and wore cargo shorts that were at least a size two large anyway (basically 9-11"). I'm shorter than most models, so they're not as short shorts on me. What's in fashion now, at least among younger guys, is the 5-7" shorts which is definite mid-thigh territory. I have boxers that are longer. My taste in short length has gone from being somewhat short to oldman long in the last ten years.

Well, the answer is a happy medium somewhere in-between. Shorts down to your knees are either ghetto style or old-man shorts. Why are we suddenly obsessed with the length of men's shorts, anyway. Young guys can wear shorter shorts. I don't see a problem. And btw, I used to dress my bf's in my mini-skirts for Halloween. They thought it was a riot, and I got to enjoy how great their legs looked in that short style! Some young men have really great legs!

This is it right there. Have been rocking those since the 1980s. Besides I run/sprint for cardio and no can do with ghetto baggies.

Not generally a fan of short-shorts on men (think 1970s), however, I'm not sorry to see the baggy cargo-style shorts leave the building either. Well-fitting (not tight, not loose) shorts, several inches above the knee look good to me.
