I like fashion and shopping and staying current with my wardrobe. I don't buy expensive pieces and I'm an expert in finding great sales and deals on good quality things, so I don't feel guilty in updating my wardrobe often and switching it out. I tried going with the more classic, less pieces but better quality approach and just can't do it - I get extremely bored with wearing the same stuff for a long time. Plus it's really fun to experiment with trends. Now that I'm a suburban SAHM I don't have many opportunities to wear really nice outfits, heels, jewelry etc, so I stick to casual but funky - my typical look for cool Pacific Northwest weather is skinny jeans with a cute fitted sweater, riding boots, leather jacket, chunky infinity scarf and large slouchy handbag. Too many women around here dress in lumpy, dumpy, and shapeless 'mom jeans', hiking boots, and bulky windbreakers, yuck.
Gold is a fad, now? Good thing I don't follow/care...I'll never wear gold, unless it's white gold.
I could be mistaken of course, but possibly the poster who mentioned gold/silver was talking about clothes?
There was a period of time when shiny gold and shiny silver were popular for jackets, etc.
I still have clothes from 15 years ago and don't care that they are not in style anymore.
Usually I go with the flow and buy modern stuff and right now I love the belly free shirts where I can finally show off my tattoo again without seeming ridiculous.
However, I mix my older stuff with newer stuff and make it timeless.
So YES, I am IN STYLE, but not replacing my whole closet or spending too much $$$ on it.
I think you are probably just living in your head.
Look, I said I'm in a major depression period. Please avoid fueling the fire. I just talked with my advisor about it. He has volunteered to help me through.
No, but that's because I'm morbidly obese. But when I was smaller, yes...
Oh stop you can still look nice. And I'm sure you do.
