Here is Sayaka Shogi performeing the Mendelssohn violin concerto.

Note the dress. Of course it is beautiful, even spectacular, but is a dress like this comfortable to wear? I know from experience that the male counterpart of suit and tie is decidedly not comfortable.

yes it is comfortable IMO. the top is just fitted but that doesn't mean it is uncomfortable. the rest is not tight at all and very comfy.

Assuming it has been properly altered and the temperature in the room is right it is no big deal. Particularly standing. Sitting on the other hand could suck if it moves up too high on her armpit.

Sure it is as well as being sleeveless where she rests her violin.

Of all the dresses ive worn the biggest problem ive had is with a few of them being itchy in the back or around the neckline. That one shes wearing as long as it isnt itchy looks pretty comfy.

I suspect that Shoji had a big say in it, or maybe her mom. Because the decoration is on the opposite side to where she tucks the violin I am sure it is comfortable. I listened to her playing and did not pay any attention to the dress!

If it was not comfortable for a performance, she would not be wearing it.
