Vineyard Vines, Lacoste, Brooks Brothers, and Ralph Lauren are all good for mainstream brands, I find. Sunspel is another brand that I like, but not as widely available. LL Bean makes good basic polo shirts as well, that represent a good value, since the company will stand behind their merchandise if you are not satisfied.

I have had problems with polos shrinking. Especially with RL Polo. Lacoste is about the same as well. I always buy up a size to keep that from happening.

Orvis is fuller cut, and heavier fabric.
Duluth has arm gussets to provide more freedom of movement.
Both are a little more costly, but you can tell the quality difference immediately compared to a Polo or LL Bean....and especially Lands End.
Izod is my favorite so far. My standard is a polo with jeans.
Yep, I have plenty of IZOD polo shirts and they've always held up well. I also have some Nautica and Tommy Hilfiger polos that Ive bought at outlet stores.
I like Lacoste, but I can't make myself pay such a high price for that little alligator logo.
Vineyard Vines and Southern Tide make the best polos I have ever worn.
All Orvis clothes are high quality, from my experience. Their polos are no different.
Lacoste makes the worst polos I have ever worn at that price point (they shrink and the fabric is thin).
