Question on what can match with a black Oxford shirt (color, light)

Hi, I was wondering if a dark navy blue jacket will match with a black Oxford shirt? Also you think white or black pants with the shirt?

I would recommend a grey jacket over the black shirt. Pants I would also go with grey. You may also want to try a grey herringbone tweed over the black shirt with some charcoal wool pants.

Dark Navy and Black are too close, but won't "match"...it will just look like you made a color mistake! I'd go with the grey, too!

DO you have the shirt and want to team an outfit round it..... not navy with black.. looks mismatched and odd...

im a dark color guy....id do the navy blue

I have a couple same shirts and wear black dress pants at work maybe a light colored tie if necessary

I do not like navy with black. It looks like a mistake, made when getting dressed in the dark. I'd like either gray, as someone suggested, or a houndstooth check or tweed.
