The G-string has finally, truly peaked—and the end of the intrusive undergarment's reign merited a spread declaring the death of the thong in that bible of women’s magazines, Cosmopolitan. “The glory days of that skimpy, silky triangle of fabric—coveted by exhibitionists, praised by poets (well, Sisqo anyway)—has come to an end,” writes Sarah Hepola for Salon. “RIP, the thong. That thong-thuh-thong-thong-thong.”
I hated wearing thongs (so I only wore them a couple times). To me, they always felt...CONSPICUOUS. It was hard to get over that feeling that I was walking around with a permanent wedgie. Do women who wear thongs all the time have to build up a thong-callous?
Good riddance to the thong. What an obnoxious piece of underwear! You knew they were going too far when they made maxi pads designed to fit onto a thong.
Good! I'm too old to wear a thong (I wear granny panties, lol) but I had a feeling the thong was falling out of favor when my 20-year-old daughter switched to bikini panties this year. Thongs look like they would be very uncomfortable, not to mention impractical.
I LOVE thongs and just got a whole new inventory from Victoria's Secret yesterday. I didn't read the article, but I am assuming that the writer thinks thongs would be replaced by seamless tangas or something, but honestly for me I can only wear thongs or bikinis. Anything in between gives me a wedgie.
