I know it is advisable to replace when it expires. But what if you use it like a few times a year? I have makeup that is almost 10 years old.

I admit I still have a lipstick in a retired color that's probably 14 years old that I wear maybe 4x a year. But now I don't have a makeup collection anymore, just my daily stuff that I replace as needed or when I find something I like better.

I buy new makeup once a year. Some years I dont even use it. Starting to feel like a waste, but you never know when an occasion will arise that you need it.

Lipsticks are okay to hold onto to, but anything eye-related should be changed up upon expiration, or once a year - especially mascaras and liners.

Quit wearing makeup 10 years ago and do not regret it at all. There is no event that I cannot attend without make up on.

Thanks for your reply! I will make sure to replace mascara. It doesn't worth the risk.

I'm the same way about makeup, I prefer my bare face. But what about wedding and formal dinners on a cruise? I feel like there are places where you're expected to wear makeup, especially if you're a young woman? If you wear a pretty dress and do your hair cute, the look would be incomplete without some makeup on?

I use all my mascara before it expires! Actually, I only keep what I use...so my stuff doesn't have time to "go bad"!
