I think you may have to alter your poll a bit. The shape of one's eyes and how they are set are two distinct features.
Mine are almond and deep set.
And no, I don't like them.

I have large doe eyes and I love them. Most people's eyes are beautiful. "Only curious" what don't you like? Almond shape is gorgeous, and deep set eyes look mysterious. :-)

Meyerland, almond eyes look great if large like yours, not small and deep set like mine. I think the overall effect makes me look sinister. It just doesn't open up my face and give that appearance of attractiveness.

A lot of people have almond eyes. More than I see in real life. My eyes are vaguely "asian" looking, my parents and most family members have round eyes. I grew to like my eye shape. Mine are a little small and look extra small when wearing glasses, so i wear contacts mostly.

I have no idea. They're not down turned, though.
I'm okay with my eyes. I used to think they were nothing special, but over the past few years I've received a lot of compliments on them.

Try a light colored shimmery shadow to brighten up the lid area. Take a highlighter shade (light beige) and apply above the center of the lash line and under the brow. Use a dark brown liner on the top lash line only and sweep out the corner a tiny bit. Use mascara on top lashes only.
See if that helps? :-)
