I'm the same height but wear an 18. I have a long torso and short legs, so I've figured out that capri pants don't ever look good on me, even when I shorten them to a better length. I do wear shorts, though, and will continue to wear shorts even when I'm over 40.

The nice thing about jeans is that they're made to stretch now, so it's easier to find jeans that will fit your curves than it used to be, and they're more comfortable now than they used to be.

My daughter wears pants that look like black jeans, but are actually a stretchy cotton jersey. She says they're the most comfortable pants in the world. They might be a good thing to look for, more comfortable than jeans but better coverage than leggings. She gets them at Walmart.

I think when you're looking for dresses and you're not very tall, it's better to stick to either very long or knee-length dresses, and the same goes for skirts. If you get a dress that hits midway between your knee and ankle, it will make your legs look thicker than they are.

The other thing that's important is to get the best-fitting bra possible. It will make all clothes look better and show off your waist.
