Does anyone remember Fiorucci? In Chicago in Water Tower - tons of new wave type clothes and the infamous parachute pants which I should have kept. I have a great picture of myself with them on away at college paired with my proudly just received Live Aid t shirt worn inside out. I should have kept the t shirt too. I still love graphic tees and cargo pants. Though my college age son has convinced me to NOT wear cargo pants lol.

Gadzooks and Body Central. My first job was at Peaches, I loved that place. I remember when Victoria's Secret was so elegant, when we were teenagers we would shush each other in that store, like it was a library or something. Now the music is so loud I have to shout at someone to be heard.

B. Altman, Bowit Teller, A & S.

Those were my mom's stores. I liked some things there, too. My wedding registry was at B.Altman. I enjoyed their luncheonette, as well.

In terms of teenage stores that parents did not shop at, I liked the "5-7-9" shop. Cool clothes with a West Coast look.

I still miss Abraham and Strauss.

I'll never forget getting a $350.00 Laura Ashley comforter for $50 at one of their in-store 'announcement' sales in the late '80s. Woo Hoo!

Blockbuster: because I have fond memories as a kid and teen of going to a video rental place on a Friday/Saturday night, ordering pizza, and relaxing for the evening.
