I buy all my jeans as dark blue and stiff as I can as they last 3x longer. Why pay $$$ for already worn out jeans?

Somebody mentioned Merry Go Round ... I got a blue satin prom dress there for $10.

Yes, with puffed sleeves and a bow. Don't judge me.

Fedco, my god. I don't expect anyone to have heard of that. I worked there as a summer job when I was in school. You're a Californian, right?

B. Altman - great classic clothes in a well laid-out store

Ohrbachs

Filene's - the real one, in Boston, with the real basement; wonderful place where you never knew what you might find.

Standard Shoes

But I really miss food places: doughnuts at Mary Elizabeths, sundaes at C. C. Brown, and so on.

Yes, I am. Did Fedco sell Christmas trees in the parking lot? That just popped into my head.

Was Brooks a chain? They were good back in the pastel preppy days. And Esprit.

P.S. Got my first set of suitcases at Fedco.
