I thought we could all add our routine/suggestions/products here in one place for anyone who is struggling with rosacea.

I have sensitive oily skin with a touch of rosacea that got worse as I aged. It's mostly on my cheeks, but my whole face will redden in the extreme cold or heat and sometimes it just flares up. I finally have a good routine that works for me.

Cleanser: Aveno bar soap is really gentle and I've been using it for years. I'll occasionally use liquid castile soap if I feel like I need a deeper clean.

Face cream: The Say Yes brand has a cucumber face lotion that works for me. I'm still looking for something even more natural and clean, but I've had good luck so far.

Other: Before bed I pat a little aloe vera gel all over my face and neck and let it dry. It really seems to nourish the skin and help calm the redness. I get a bottle of just the gel at a local health food store and keep it in the refrigerator. I will also use witch hazel a few time a week if the redness seems to be flaring up.

Please share what has worked for you!

If you use witch hazel make sure you use the ALCOHOL FREE witch hazel. Alcohol is very very bad for rosacea.

Are you using Metrogel?

My skin is more dry to normal. I use CeraVe cleanser and facial moisturizer. I use MD Formulations antioxidant spray as a toner -- I put it on a cotton pad. I put that on after cleansing, and then follow with Metrogel. I let that dry. I put a squirt of Intelligent Nutrients anti aging serum (which is an oil) in my palm, add three squirts of CeraVe facial moisturizer (nighttime version) and rub together and apply to my face.

To me, since starting that Intelligent Nutrients serum, my face's hot spots feel cooler.

But with hot flashes and doing janitorial work, I do get badly flushed anyway. I can't wear sunscreen at all, because it eventually sweats into my eyes and burns, then every one asks me if I was crying....

I use Cetaphil soap. I also take minoxidil daily to control outbreaks.

How would minoxidil help rosacea?

I basically eliminated rosacea by improving my gut health (changes in diet and supplements). While that was happening, I used Oracea and I think Metrogel.

This^^^^^

I was diagnosed with rosacea with accompanying cystic acne. Three months on oral antibiotics and metrogel....barely an improvement. I'd finally had enough. I went on an elimination diet and started taking a probiotic. 8 months later I am acne free and have only mild infrequent redness.

For me, artificial sweeteners were the major culprit. I now use neutrogena clear face bar to wash, the green redness relief facial cream from Clinique and I add a dab of vitamin e oil at night to my moisturizer and mix.

I changed my diet and got rid of it. I experimented with one food at a time until I figured it out. Once I knew what it was, it was gone forever.

I went gluten free and use cereve face wash, vitamin c serum and retin-a. Not sure what actually helped, but my skin is almost clear of rosacea after being on this regimen a while. My rosacea got worse while I was pregnant.

I knew nothing about rosacea prior to reading this thread but it did make me search and learn. Unfortunately most of the searches were linked to companies selling products but I did come across one site that I felt was pretty factual and not pushing a product I hope it will add to your fund of knowledge Rosacea | Acne Symptoms and Treatments | Patient.co.uk
