Any of your choices can be appropriate on me, depending on what the items of clothing is!

I don't like dots, I am wary of paisleys, and as a man sometimes I don't want to wear florals. No preferences among the rest.

None, I like solid colors without print or design.
I will add accessories when I want a different look.

Yeah, checks should have been listed.

Does anyone else prefer horizontal stripes over vertical stripes?

I don't have a single favorite, but it largely depends on the season. I do like floral patterns and in the spring/summer, and houndstooth in the fall/winter (I think that's considered geometric).
