Because one can be wearing the most beautiful outfit -- but with the wrong shoes, it throws the whole look off.

A good example would be a nice, tailored women's suit with flip flops.

Shoes pull it all together.

So why is that, say, an ugly/cheap jacket, doesn't throw the whole look off? (real sincere curiosity here)

Let's picture someone in each case, who's better off?

It's true that often we hardly look down to pay attention to what shoes someone is wearing; however, as soon as noticing, and if they are lousy shoes, it indeed throws everything off. But I just want to pinpoint why that's the case and different if it's solely a jacket, a hat, pants, etc.... My micro research

I think clean is the most important aspect of an outfit.
Other than that who cares what someone else wears?

To the OP I will say if you wanted your answers to be selected from a preset body of specific parameters I suggest a poll. Some silly folks here still think it's a free country........

I think the top part of an outfit is more important than the bottom. Wearing the right color next to your face can make your eye, hair and skin color stand out in a good way.

I guess I'm not a shoe person because I rarely pay attention to what people have on their feet. Maybe it's because outside of work I wear flip flops about 90% of the time.
