Because in Hotlanta you melt in a suit.

I HATE wearing ties. That said, if I'm going to wear one, it's got to be a NICE tie - which tend to be outrageously expensive. They say you should dress for the job you want, not the job you have. I usually wear a tie for the job I have but the job I want requires jeans and a tee shirt. Suits - I don't mind a sports coat, just the top button of the shirt and tie annoy me.

I wish I had more things going on so I could wear a nice suit. My job does not want me in a suit so I have to find other times to get decked out. A sport coat I wear every day but wish I had more times to look good.

because mens suits are uncomfortbale. shirt tucked into pants, neck tie and a jacket. all restricts movements.

mens suits are not comfortable, any man that says it is comfortable has a few screws loose.

I get that a lot of guys hate ties, but... tucking your shirt in? wearing a jacket? I don't really see how either is so terribly uncomfortable.

Like I said in the OP, "Obviously they're not good for crawling around on the ground or heavy exertion, and not a good choice for hot and humid weather..." but outside of those circumstances I think they're perfectly comfortable.

That's ridiculous. Someone sure has a complex.

Agreed. I bet a lot of the complainers have probably gained weight and are trying to stuff themselves into a suit that no longer fits!

Yeah, the people who insist upon perpetuating the use of those accursed neckties, for exactly the reason as stated.

Yeah, that top button choking your neck isn't comfortable. Then the tie dangling off you and getting into things, the multiple layers (undershirt/dress shirt/jacket) just makes my skin crawl. Plus I find them rather unattractive on most men. I suppose a well-fitted suit on an in-shape man looks decent, but most just look frumpy. I also just don't care for how the fabric feels. I much prefer jeans and a t-shirt and think that look is sexy.
