I think I am going to have to stay with a good walking shoe for general walking on the beach and invest in some sort of wading boot (maybe like they use when surf fishing) for the seining activities and horseshoe crab counts. (last night high tide and no moon - the horseshoe crab count was at 1:30 am. The males like to go after your boots. Not easy walking when you are up to your ankles in water and there are hundreds of those guys all around your feet.)

PS: Kelly237 - when you are retired counting horseshoe crabs is something to add to your bucket list. The Inland Bays depend on volunteers to do these counts to monitor the health of the bays and the horseshoe crab population. The majority of the volunteers are in the 60 - 80 age group. When we finish up a count at 3am - we don't have to get up an go to work a few hours later!
