Today on TCM, t'was "The Poop Side Down Adventure" and in it, Pamela Sue Martin is wearing heels while Carol Lynley is in knee boots. The latter's part must have been easier, going through those sets, without twisting an ankle.....imagine if it had been real.

Last night's late movie on Telumundo was "De mujer a mujer"
(Woman to Woman) in which at one part, the leading man and the leading lady had to beat feet from the hotel and there she was, struggling to get the straps on her heels.

Of course, I'm a Stevie Nicks child, I wear boots all the time. It just seems sensible.

I honestly don't know most of the references you used, but I got what you were saying. Nothing beats the practicality or sensibility of boots for sure (I'm a huge fan, wear them all year round - not cowboy style, more like military style), but let's face it, most people aren't too practical when it comes to fashion.

That said, I am so much at home with my boots that I wear them practically exclusively....except my Nikes for bike riding and my scuba booties. I'm not much for dress up anymore but if I were, I'd find a way to do it in boots.

Fashion and boots usually do not coexist for women. My daughter lived in Army boots for most of her high school years....definitely not fashionable.

People on the run are not ordinarily dressed like Hollywood movie stars, though!

Boots. That's all I own and it's all I'll wear. Besides barefoot just around the house. I have some converse for leisure but as a simple country girl who wears what I'm comfortable in, not what fashion says I should wear, it's worked fine for me for years and years.
